Leeds Beckett University has 190 years of education, with over 2,900 staff and enrolling more than 28,000 students from almost 100 countries around the world.
Sewell Construction has previously worked with the university during the refurbishment of their Sheila Silver Library back in 2016, which also saw the team going the extra mile to provide a book collection service for students using the library.
Sewell has now been appointed to carry out reconfiguration works to the Northern Terrace reception area, creating an open plan environment.
Demolition works will start the project, to create the new open plan space.
This will be followed by a complete strip out of facilities and replacing with new flooring, ceilings and counter furniture.
Mechanical and electrical works will also be carried out throughout the project.
Currently on site: Preparations are well underway for the temporary propping for the new structural steelwork supports to remove the existing wall to create the full open space. Existing walls removed in readiness for new partitions and glazed lobby and the demolition and soft strip out is now completed.
