Partners celebrate education transformation
The developer behind Hull’s new £400m Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme has brought its partners together to ensure the finale of the programme well and truly goes out with a bang.
Hull Esteem Consortium is a partnership between estates services provider Sewell Group, national construction company Morgan Sindall and Robertson Capital Projects. Between them they have delivered 26 world-class schools for Hull City Council, which will accommodate for the educational needs of more than 12,000 students on an annual basis.
Now, after five years of colossal milestones, the pioneering developer – in partnership with Hull City Council – brought together all of its partners for a spectacular celebration evening, which recognised the efforts of those who have made significant contributions to the programme, which has left undoubtedly left a monumental legacy behind.
Organisers of the celebration event say they wanted to recognise the efforts that lie behind the bricks and mortar and the event will offer an insight into all of the added value achievements that have formed part of the BSF journey.
Sam Whitaker, chief executive at Esteem, said: “Nothing will ever be able to put the sheer magnitude of the Building Schools for the Future programme into any sort of context.
“Hull’s school estate has been transformed beyond recognition and I am incredibly proud to have played a role in that, as are my colleagues and our wider team of partners and their supply chains.
“This celebration event was about bringing our key partners together to reflect on what has been achieved and look ahead to the exciting future in store for Esteem.”
Paul Sewell, Managing Director of Sewell Group, said:
“What has been produced in the education and health sectors in Hull of recent years has been absolutely remarkable and shows what can be achieved when the public sector and private sector work together. That type of partnership really benefits the community it serves.”
Steve Liddle, headteacher at Winifred Holtby Academy, said: “BSF in Hull has brought about significant benefits for all concerned. Both students and the communities as a whole have reaped the rewards of a scheme that will make a difference for generations to come.
“Winifred Holtby Academy and Tweendykes School were proud to be acknowledged by Esteem and Hull City Council at the awards ceremony for our outstanding management in the unique building that is two schools in one. The award recognises the hard work put in by many people over the last six years to make the building what it is.”
