New Sewell Group Director pursues seamless service
A senior member of Sewell Group staff has been appointed as a Director of Estates with expertise spanning both the facilities management and construction areas of the business.
Sean Henderson has been appointed Director of Operations (Sewell Estates), blending his skills and knowledge to pursue a seamless service and complement each area.
Sean began his career from a trade background in 1983, from the grassroots of the industry, and brings more than 30 years of experience, management and knowledge of construction methods and practices to the business.
Before joining the Sewell Group as Construction Project Manager in 2008, he held a senior position at a regional contractor, gaining experience through the successful delivery of many commercial, social housing, health and education schemes.
Since joining Sewell, Sean has played a key role in the on-site delivery teams of several world class health and educations projects, including the award-winning Bransholme Health Centre, which was delivered with zero defects and won two Gold Considerate Constructors Awards.
In 2013, he joined the Sewell Facilities Management division and spent three years as Head of Operations, overseeing the day to day running and management of more than 100 staff across the company’s health and education projects, as well as a number of NHS contracts.
Sean, who is currently supporting the Sewell team on site at the £30 million University of Hull student residences, said: “The aim is to create a seamless approach and link through construction into facilities management, providing clients with added peace of mind and ensuring buildings remain at day one quality.
“It is so important to be flexible and it makes sense to draw on mine and my colleagues’ knowledge across the entire business, as construction and facilities management work hand in hand.”
Sean will oversee future schemes from the first stroke of the development brief, through construction and into facilities management, providing a single point of contact for clients across both public and private sectors.
Sewell Group Managing Director Paul Sewell said: “Sean will now be working across all aspects of our estates business and hence proving that talent, hard work, results and flexibility pays dividends as a role model to many more who will follow him, I’m sure.”
