Sewell Construction confirmed on national decarbonisation framework
Sewell Construction has been appointed to a national framework which will provide up to £1.5bn of decarbonisation works for the public sector.
Fusion21’s Decarbonisation Framework is designed to give public sector organisations access to qualified and compliant suppliers who can help them to deliver decarbonisation plans, reduce emissions, maximise cost savings and put in place retrofit measures to make buildings more energy efficient.
Sewell Construction has been appointed to Lot 2 of the framework, which covers decarbonisation of public and educational buildings, and can deliver projects across the north of England. This framework covers design and delivery of energy efficiency measures, including thermal fabric improvements, heating and renewables, power and building management systems and improvement works.
The four-year framework will support the Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS), which aims to cut emissions from public sector buildings by 75% by 2037.
Sewell Construction has been working on a number of decarbonisation projects recently, partnering with health, education and local authority clients to plan and deliver retrofit and refurbishment projects which will help make buildings more energy efficient, saving both carbon and costs.
Chris Soper, Joint Managing Director at Sewell Construction said: “With public sector organisations around the country setting ambitious targets to meet on net zero, it’s essential to act now to decarbonise buildings. We’re really excited to be reappointed to this framework, and we’re keen to continue the positive impacts we have had in supporting customers across the north of England to modernise and decarbonise their ageing estates and ensure their buildings are fit for the future.”
Paul Towers, Framework Manager at Fusion21, said: “We are delighted to welcome all the new suppliers onto Fusion21’s Decarbonisation Framework, including Sewell Construction. The tender process was highly competitive and has identified the best suppliers for our members to help deliver zero carbon goals, reduce emissions, maximise cost savings, achieve social value targets and support domestic and non-domestic retrofit measures.
“Members accessing this framework will benefit from flexible call-off options, UK-wide coverage, and the option to deliver social value to their communities, aligned to their organisational priorities.”
