The construction services team from Sewell has been working at Monks Cross Shopping Centre in York, assisting with the general upkeep of external areas helping to ensure customers have a great experience from arrival.

Geoff Smith, Project Manager said

“Our work there has included road, carpark and footpath repairs and upkeep, kerbing, white lining, road sweeping as well as general painting works.”

The popular shopping centre on the edge of York has been welcoming visitors from all over Yorkshire since opening their doors in 1998. With 1000 car parking spaces catering for all their shoppers, general road maintenance is an extremely important part of the regular maintenance regime.

Gareth Bovingdon, Site Facilities Manager explained:

“Our visitors’ experience starts from the moment they enter the car park so we need to ensure it’s maintained to a high standard. With 250,000 sq ft of facilities to look after within the main centre, Sewell provides us with peace of mind that the civil works externally will be completed to centre management and customers’ exacting.”
