When the school doors close for Summer, the building work begins.
Sewell Construction is scheduled to undertake multiple summer works across the Hull school estate, working on behalf of Hull Esteem.
Last year, Sewell completed over 9 summer projects at a number of educational establishments across Yorkshire, ready for the return in September. This year, works are being carried out at Dorchester School, Boulevard Academy & Tweendykes, as well as schools in York.
Early works are taking place in preparation for extension works in the Autumn at the Boulevard Academy, which includes the internal re-modelling of a number of spaces and fit out of new science class bases.
Working in partnership with Hull Esteem and their FM provider Robertson FM, work at Tweendykes School will see the utilisation of void space in the creation of new admin spaces, a new pod is being constructed in their reception area working to a complex design. Work will include forming the foundations, a metal frame build with plasterboard partitioning, a new suspended ceiling, and upgrades to the lighting and ventilation, as well as decoration work. The colour scheme of the admin pod will be in keeping with the school’s colours which are used to help the students with learning disabilities.
Dorchester Primary will see the second phase of works to follow on from the success of last summer, creating further group classrooms for “Little Stars” an early years provision for SEN and PMLD Pupils attending Tweendykes School.
All projects are due to be completed by September 2019.
