Plans for the new Broadacre Primary School, which will see the existing building demolished and replaced, have been given the green light by planning.
Sewell Construction has been working with closely with Hull City Council’s major projects team, the school and Academy Trust to develop a design and build contract.
The new build will provide 630 pupil places, 210 more places than the existing building, for children in the North Carr area of the city.
It will also have a 52 place nursery and a 10-place Special Educational Needs Autism Spectrum Disorder provision.
“We have worked with Esteem over the last 10 years to develop a number schools in the city as part of the Building School for the Future programme, transforming the educational experience for young people in Hull.”
“This is a brilliant project that will greatly benefit the school and the North Carr Area.”
After approval from the Regional Schools Commissioner in July, the plans were reviewed by the Local Planning Authority in October. The new build is due to start on-site in the new year and will open in early 2022.
