I joined Sewell in July 1996 as a management trainee.

Sewell has an open and supportive approach to working with people, and doing the right thing is greatly valued. The culture within Sewell means people can develop both professionally and personally and progress to become ambassadors for the company in all roles.

I joined Sewell in January 2006, originally as a management trainee, trying my hand in the many different areas of construction.

Since I joined Sewell, the company has grown a lot but it has always maintained its family ethos and continues to invest in its people, empowering individuals and providing a platform for career progression. We have a “can do” attitude – working together to deliver the best results.

I joined Sewell Construction in 2009 after running my own business and spending time with other companies in the construction industry. From day one I liked how I was trusted, and the people I worked with were great. I could really relate to the company values and ethics.

It's a great place to work because it really does value its people. They always support individuals, such as training or mentoring to support both personal and career growth.


Amie Mangham

I joined Sewell Construction in August 2022.

Within a week of starting my journey here, it was evident that there was a great culture where all employees were united, worked well as a team, and took pride in their work.

Since starting, I’m already working towards becoming Chartered by the CIOB, which has been a target of mine for a few years. There are so many opportunities here to develop new and existing skills – recently I’ve been showcasing digitalisation methods for our current construction processes using various methods of technology to the Sewell Construction team.

Construction Site Manager

From my first day I’ve felt included, and from meeting everybody you could tell they take their behaviours and culture seriously. Most companies I have previously worked for say they have a culture and set behaviours, but to work with engaged people who actively live the behaviours set this company aside from the rest.

I can honestly say I enjoy each and every day that I come into work for Sewell Construction. I think it's because we are all one big work family. You are valued and appreciated for everything you do for the business and we all celebrate success together.


Community Investment Champion

I joined Sewell Construction in May 2021 as Community Investment Champion. I chose a career at Sewell Construction due to its regular actions for doing the right thing, particularly within local communities. I finished University and was looking for my next challenge to begin building my career, and knew Sewell would be a perfect place to do this.

No matter what level you join, there are always opportunities to develop your career at Sewell Construction which are very well supported by the Senior Leadership Team. This shows it really is all about the people.


Construction site manager

I joined in November 2019 when a Site Manager position was advertised, and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands! I’d been impressed by what I'd seen and heard and felt the company’s ethos aligned with my own. We have a fast-paced, collaborative and dynamic working environment, where like-minded team members can share their knowledge and passion for the built environment.
