Work underway at Sheila Silver Library

Sewell Construction has been reappointed to complete the next stage of the Sheila Silver Library refurbishment at Leeds Beckett University.

It comes after the team completed the second floor of the library in a £1.4 million refurbishment in September last year, with all work supporting the university’s ongoing upgrade and maintenance programme.

Previous work involved removing the old library and consulting rooms, turning it into an open plan space, building a new library and rooms, as well as IT hubs and suites.

Current work will include full refurbishment of the existing space, demolishing walls, redesigning the floor layout, installing new ICT and library facilities, and creating meeting rooms and breakout spaces as part of a full modernisation programme.
